Painting of Stairwell in Bath with Designer's Guild paint
Take a look at one of our most recent projects using Designer's Guild paint

We recently redecorated the walls in a stairwell in a Georgian town house in the centre of Bath. Various cracks and marks had appeared since it was last redecorated and it was definitely in need of some freshening up. The customer chose a colour called 'Soft Angelica' by Designer's Guild. The colour is a sort of warm cream and this works really well with the Bath stone in the stairwell (as well as the woodwork which is finished with 'Perfect White' a colour by Zoffany). While renovating the house, the customer had all of the paint stripped from the stair treads, stone skirting boards and the underside of the stairs. While most staircases in the Georgian houses are made of stone, one rarely sees it stripped back like this - it is usually plastered / painted. The results are really stunning. The varnish was also stripped from the hand rails and these were then French Polished. It's certainly one of the most beautifully restored Georgian stairwells that I have come across in Bath.
